When the camera or camcorder is taking photos or recording videos, any objects moving relative to the camera will appear blurry or tailing along the relative motion direction. Under the same conditions, the longer the exposure time, the more obvious the image blur.

Motion blur test in GA/T 1127-2013

In the GA/T 1127-2013: General Technical Standards for Security Video Surveillance Cameras formulated by the Ministry of Public Security [Subjective Evaluation of Image Quality], the evaluation method of the five-level damage system is adopted:

Sports scene test method:

Illumination range: 10lux～1000lux adjustable
Diameter: 40cm turntable, rotating at a constant speed of 120rpm
Equipment placement: a motion blur test card with a diameter of 40cm (as shown in the figure below) is placed in the center of the turntable, and the circular black spot on the test card is 5mm in diameter

The center of the camera to be tested is in a straight line with the center of the turntable. The test content should fill the entire camera output image. The test camera exposure works in "automatic" mode. During the test, capture the camera output image and ensure that the image is complete (including motion). The trailing part caused by the blur) caught 3 circular black dots on the test card.

Result evaluation: Evaluate the number of pixels of motion blur (smearing) caused by circular black dots, refer to the [Subjective Evaluation of Image Quality] table for scoring.

An Introduction:
