Q14 Grayscale Test Chart

The Q14 Grayscale Test Chart is a professional reflective image quality test chart designed around 18% neutral gray as a key exposure reference. It is widely used in imaging laboratories, cameras, and imaging devices for exposure evaluation, dynamic range assessment, and grayscale linearity calibration.
The chart consists of 20 continuous grayscale steps ranging from white to black, with a uniform density progression for evaluating tonal reproduction across different luminance levels. It provides a consistent reference for analyzing image quality and supports imaging system development, production calibration, and quality control testing.

· 20 Continuous Density Steps：The Q14 Grayscale Test Chart consists of 20 continuous grayscale steps, with reflection density increasing from 0.05 to 1.95 in increments of 0.10. The defined density progression provides a continuous, quantifiable reference for analyzing the grayscale response of imaging systems.
· 18% Neutral Gray Reference：The M step represents an 18% neutral gray reference with a nominal reflection density of 0.7. It can be used as a mid-tone reference for exposure-related testing.
· Highlight-to-Shadow Tonal Coverage：The chart covers a range of tonal levels from a reflection density of 0.05 to 1.95, enabling analysis of grayscale reproduction across different brightness levels, including highlight and shadow regions.
· For Grayscale Response and Exposure Analysis：By analyzing the captured images of the individual grayscale steps, the Q14 chart can be used for grayscale response and exposure accuracy testing. Depending on the applicable test method, it can also support dynamic range-related evaluation.
